For a publication in the Gold OA journal of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) your will receive a 15% discount on APC. It is activated after selecting MHH as your affiliated institution.

This option was reached by MHH library's participation in the GASCO Consortium.

Authors who choose to publish their article immediately as an open access publication pay a fee for that. Portland Press offers a 15% discount on this fee for MHH members if the article is published in one of the following hybrid journals of the Biochemical Society:

• Biochemical Journal
• Biochemical Society Transactions
• Clinical Science
• Essays in Biochemistry
• Emerging Topics in Life Science

This option is available through the MHH library's participation in the DFG-funded alliance licence "Biochemical Society Journals".

You can publish open access free of charge in the license journals of the BMJ Standard Collection (Hybrid Open Access). If you search here for our institution, you will be shown all currently usable journal titles. While submission process, please, select Hannover Medical School/Medizinische Hochschule Hannover.

After "accepted" the publisher expects you to enter our institutional Ringgold number (9177).

The journals The BMJ and BMJ Case Reports are not part of this agreement!

MHH library's participation in the BMJ Consortium (Publish&Read) allows for this option.

As the first author, affiliated with Hannover Medical School, you can publish open access free of additional charge in many journals at CUP (Cambridge University Press).

MHH library pays for these costs centrally as part of the DFG-funded open access transformation agreement "Cambridge Journals Online".

Upon publication in FRONTIERS` Gold Open Access journal, you will receive a 7.5% discount on the publication costs if the costs appear on the central collective invoice to MHH library.

When submitting your manuscript, please already select our university in the invoice section. If your affiliation is confirmed to FRONTIERS by MHH library, your publication costs (after your consent) will be assigned to the central invoice.

For publishing in Karger´s genuine Gold Open Access journals, you receive a 15% discount on the publication costs.

You can publish (hybrid) open access in these journals free of charge. The following article types are included: research, review, case-report, meta-analysis and methods article.

MHH library´s participation in the National Karger Consortium (Transformative Publish&Read) allows for these options.

For publications in MDPI journals MHH library has arranged Central Billing.

When submitting the manuscript, please select our university already in the Institutional Account Program workflow. During the submission process on MHH campus, the publication is automatically  assigned to the agreement with a 10% discount as long as you do not use vouchers for billing.

In NATURE Hybrid Journals you can publish your manuscript open access without paying the additional costs for OA (based on the DEAL with Springer Nature).

In some cases, only fees for additional publication options are invoiced separately (exceeding page charges, colour fees, etc.) and paid by you as the corresponding author.

Here NATURE Publisher provides you with information and a current title list of the journals.

MHH library´s participation in the Nature Transformative Agreement for Germany makes this option possible.

The library arranged central billing with PLOS Public Library of Science for all publications by MHH authors that appear in PLOS ONE.

MHH authors who decide to publish their article immediately as an open access publication in PNAS will pay a fee of only USD 2,000 instead of USD 2,500.

(Hybrid) Open Access publishing in the so-called "PsyJournals" (psychological journals) of Hogrefe Publisher is free of charge for you until 2023.

For open access publishing in following new Gold Open Access Journals you will receive a 25% discount on APC:

MHH library´s participation in the National Consortium for Open Access Transformation at the PsyJournals (Hogrefe) for the years 2021-2023 makes these options possible.

Through the MHH's participation in the national Sage consortium, MHH authors can publish in Sage hybrid open access for free. The authors receive a discount of 20% in gold open access journals. Until the end of 2022, the library pays the costs for hybrid open access publications centrally.

As submitting corresponding author affiliated to MHH you are entitled to publish open access free of costs in Springer Nature Journals in 2022.

By using the option Open Choice  in subscription journals (Hybrid Open Access) you only have to pay fees for exceeding pages, colour figures etc. by the means of your MHH account - Exception: In the approx. 70 specialist journals you only can publish open access without self-payment, if the article has not been requested and edited, and corresponds to the Research Article type.

For publishing in Gold Open Access Journals (incl. BioMed Central) MHH library centrally pays APCs as part of the SPRINGER DEAL in 2022, dependent on the “online publication date”.

You will receive a 25% discount on publication fees for hybrid open access publication in some different Thieme journals (submission date at the latest on 2022/12/31/).

As submitting corresponding author affiliated to MHH you are entitled to publish open access in Wiley Journals free of costs in 2022.

By using the option Online Open in subscription journals (Hybrid Open Access) you have to pay by the means of your MHH account only fees for exceeding pages, colour figures etc.

Durch die Teilnahme der MHH am nationalen Sage-Konsortium können Autor*innen der MHH kostenlos bei Sage hybrid open access publizieren. Dabei erhalten die Autor*innen in Gold Open Access Journals einen Rabatt in Hohe von 20%. Bis Ende 2021 zahlt die Bibliothek zentral die Kosten für die hybriden Open-Access-Veröffentlichungen.

Springer DEAL

Im Zuge des DEAL mit Springer Nature zahlt die Bibliothek in 2022 zentral die Kosten für Ihre (Hybrid) Open-Access-Veröffentlichung in einem Journal mit der Option Open Choice. Nur Kosten für exceeding pages, colour figures etc. zahlen Sie (bzw. Ihre Abteilung) als submitting und corresponding author.   -   Ausnahme: in den ca. 70 Facharztzeitschriften (siehe Titelliste unten) kann nur dann ohne Selbstzahlung durch Autorin/Autor open access publiziert werden, wenn die Artikel nicht angefordert und redaktionell betreut wurden und dem Typus Research Article entsprechen.

In den Gold Open Access-Journals zahlen Sie bis Ende 2022 keine APC an den Verlag Springer Nature (incl. BioMed Central). Hier zahlt ebenfalls die Bibliothek zentral die Kosten im Zuge des SPRINGER DEAL, abhängig vom „online publication date“.
