MHH Publication Fund

DFG Publication Fund

In 2021/2022 MHH authors may receive support by DFG Publication Fund for publishing in gold open access journals listed by the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) if the APC (Article Publication Charge) does not exceed 2.000 EUR inclusive 19% VAT*. Partial support for APCs more than 2.000 EUR* is not possible by this fund.

DOAJ indexes quality-assured and peer-reviewed open access journals.

MHH departments may receive funding by the DFG Publication Fund for:

  • MHH authors who are responsible as submitting or corresponding author for the payment of APC
  • Primary research articles and reviews published in 2021/2022 which are conform with the above-mentioned criteria

MHH Library either will directly pay the publication fee with means of the DFG Publication fund or reimburse the MHH account charged for the APC.

If you are eligible for open access funding, please put in following documents to the library:

  • ·         Application for the DFG Publication Fund
  • ·         Publisher´s invoice of the Article Publication Charge (APC)
  • ·         (for reimbursement of the publication fee: additional) SAP print out of the MHH account charged

In case of funding your publication should contain an acknowledgement of the financial support provided by this fund:

Advices

Funding is only feasible while no other financial support like third party funding is available.

In its Open Access Policy MHH recommends researchers to consider financial resources for open access publication when applying for third party funding.

Articles published in journals with closed access (subscription model) offering an open access option are not qualified for funding by MHH Publication Fund because hybrid models result in double costs for the university. On the one hand, the university pays subscription fees to get access to the journal and on the other hand, it has to pay publication fee to publish articles open access in that journal.

*Please note that taxes for foreign publications are only charged after the invoice has been issued in the course of the so-called reverse charge process. You will receive a net invoice from abroad (without tax) and as part of the accounting entry of the invoice, the sales tax of currently 19% is recorded, so that the net invoice currently does not exceed around EUR 1,680.00 in order to receive a DFG funding. For publications abroad, please state the VATID of the MHH: DE115650503
