Dear colleagues,

Welcome to the last kidney transplant conference of the year. As is tradition, we will start with the figures on kidney transplants at the MHH. This will be followed by an exciting presentation by Prof. Dr. Dr. Stefan Reuter, Senior Consultant in Transplantation Nephrology at Münster University Hospital, on the topic of "Tacrolimus - how risk stratification can improve adherence and outcome after kidney transplantation". In the area of kidney transplant aftercare, we naturally strive to develop individualized concepts, which also includes an adapted control of immunosuppression in its composition and intensity. As you all know, calcineurin inhibitors play a central role in this context. As part of his scientific activities, Prof. Reuter was able to investigate the influence of different metabolization rates for tacrolimus in kidney transplant recipients and correlate them with transplant function. He will report on the results and the practical implications for transplant aftercare in his lecture for us.
