Prof. Dr. med. Heike Bantel working group
Welcome to Prof. Heike Bantel's research group. In our research projects, we investigate basic scientific and translational aspects of various liver diseases. One of our main research focus is the investigation of cell death mechanisms and their role in metabolic, viral or autoimmune liver diseases as well as in hepatocellular carcinoma. The aim of our research is to gain new insights into altered cell death processes that enable the early diagnosis and the development of new therapeutic approaches in liver diseases.
