Welcome to the working group of Prof. Heike Bantel. Here we would like to give you an insight into the work of our research group. We would also like to introduce you to our employees and publications.
In our research projects, we investigate basic scientific and translational aspects of hepatology. A long-standing focus is dedicated to the investigation of cell death mechanisms and their role in metabolic, viral or autoimmune liver diseases as well as in hepatocellular carcinoma. The aim of the research work is to develop innovative approaches that use the knowledge gained about altered cell death processes for early diagnosis or therapy.
