Dr. med. Katharina Hupa-Breier research group
Our research group investigates the immunometabolic mechanisms of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and its progression to steatohepatitis (MASH).
In basic science and translational projects, we are investigating how diet and obesity influence the development and progression of the disease.
The aim is to develop new therapeutic approaches by analyzing dietary and lifestyle factors. We are also investigating the influence of lifestyle changes on advanced liver disease in order to prevent malnutrition and sarcopenia.
