Borrowing and returning
Media can be borrowed and returned at our lending desk during our opening hours.
The loan period is 28 days and renewing the loans is possible up to eight times. This can be done either by the library staff at the lending desk or online via your own user account.
A renewal is not possible if
- the item has already been reserved by another person,
- the maximum number of renewals has already been reached, or
- the user account is blocked (due to excessive fees or an expired user card).
By participating in the HOBSY system, it is possible for media to be returned to the other participating libraries. Accordingly, we also accept books from the other HOBSY libraries. You can use the link mentioned to see the libraries that participate in the inter-library return system.
How many media can I borrow at the same time?
No more than 20 media can be borrowed by one user at the same time.

I cannot come to the library at the moment, can I return a book to you by post?
If you are unable to renew a book through your user account because it has been reserved by another user or you have reached the maximum number of renewals, the book must be returned to us. You can also return a medium to us by post. However, please consider the often longer postal route for the timely return.
