Publication discounts / publishing agreements
Here you will find the publication discounts currently agreed with publishers and the publishing agreements for our authors at the MHH.
To find out which publishers publish individual journals, you can use the search function in the Electronic Journals Library (EZB), for example.
For publishing in this Gold OA journal of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) until the end of 2023, you will receive a 15% discount on the APC. It will be activated after selecting MHH as your affiliated institution.
This option is available through the MHH Library's participation in the GASCO consortium.
With this publisher you can publish open access (Hybrid Open Access) in the licensed journals of the BMJ Standard Collection free of charge. If you search for our university here, all currently usable journal titles will be displayed. Please assign yourself directly to the MHH when submitting your manuscript. After "accepted", the publisher expects you to enter our institutional ring gold number (9177).
The journals The BMJ and BMJ Case Reports are not part of this agreement!
This option is made possible by the library's participation in the BMJ consortium (Publish&Read).
As a first author affiliated with the MHH, you can publish in many journals at CUP open access without additional costs. These are paid centrally by the library as part of the DFG-funded open access transformation contract "Cambridge Journals Online". Please choose the CC-BY licence if possible.
Here you will find the journal titles currently available for this offer after entering the country and our university.
The above option comes about through the participation of the MHH library in the read-and-publish agreement of the DFG consortium.
If you publish in the Gold Open Access journals of this publisher, you will receive a 10% discount on the publication costs if the costs appear on the central collective invoice to the university library.
When submitting your manuscript, please already select our university in the invoice section. If your university affiliation is confirmed to FRONTIERS by the MHH library, your publication costs will be assigned to the central collective invoice (after your agreement).
As an MHH author, you can publish open access in all hybrid journals with no additional cost and in 16 Gold Open Access journals with IOP Publishing (duration 2022 - 2024) free of charge. Only costs that are incurred independently of open access (page charge, colour figures, etc.) are paid by you as an author.
The article must be a "primary research article" (this includes research papers, special issue articles, letters and review articles). Here is the list of appropriate journals (Lists A, B, and D ONLY): https://publishingsupport.iopscience.iop.org/questions/eligible-journals-transformative-agreements/.
Based on your affiliation statement, IOP Publishing will recognise you as eligible and contact you to advise you of the agreement described here. Submission assistance here: https://publishingsupport.iopscience.iop.org/questions/submit-under-a-transformative-agreement-guide/

In the NATURE hybrid journals you can publish your manuscript in open access without paying the additional costs (based on the DEAL with Springer Nature).
Only fees for additional publication options are charged separately (exceeding page charges, colour fees etc.) and paid by you as the author.

Please select in the payment details: My institution pays all or part of the fee (In German: Meine Institution zahlt die gesamte oder einen Teil der Gebühr.). The library will take care of the blanket check and invoice processing for Open Access publishing and pay the total costs.
If you still receive the invoice personally after "accepted", there was an error in the submission process.

The offer is made possible by the library's participation in a national consortium agreement.
