Top ranking in THE sustainability ranking

MHH is ranked first in Germany in the category ‘Good Health and Well-Being’.

Since 2019, the British magazine Times Higher Education has been publishing its THE Impact Ranking, which examines and evaluates the social impact of universities in the field of sustainability in 17 categories based on the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). One of the goals is SDG 3, ‘Good Health and Well-Being’ – Hanover Medical School (MHH) is ranked first in Germany in this category. Internationally, the university achieved an excellent position in the 101 to 200 ranking group out of a total of 1,788 participating universities worldwide.

The THE ranking sees the listed universities at the forefront when it comes to advancing universal health coverage, reducing preventable deaths and improving public health through innovative research, comprehensive health services and community-building programmes. According to the highly regarded university ranking, they are also doing excellent work in addressing key health challenges such as mental health support, access to essential medicines and reproductive health services.

The Global Goals were developed to promote social, economic and environmental sustainability worldwide. They are a central component of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. MHH is committed to using resources responsibly and sustainably, as enshrined in its mission statement.
