The Department of Hematology, Hemostaseology, Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation is the central medical center of the Hannover Medical School for patients with solid and systemic tumors, with others, eg. benign diseases of the hematopoietic system as well as coagulation disorders. Due to demographic trends and medical progress, the importance of this subject is steadily increasing, and our department has grown accordingly in recent years.
In our clinic, a large team of doctors, psychologists, scientists and nursing staff, in the medical-technical service, in the documentation and the administration works closely with very special specializations. It is our goal to provide all our patients, with their serious, often life-threatening illnesses, with optimal care at the highest medical level. We offer the entire range of possible services in our field of expertise. This always includes the close interdisciplinary cooperation with other diagnostic and therapeutic disciplines as well as with the practicing general practitioners and medical specialists. With clinical studies and basic research, we are working to continuously improve our treatment outcomes to help more and more patients heal or enable them to live longer with a high quality of life. The clinic is involved in numerous national and international research networks and cooperations.
The qualified education of our students and the excellent further education of young doctors is our special interest. We provide up-to-date developments in our field of expertise in regular advanced training courses and consultations in order to establish them as quickly as possible in general medical care.
