To the Central Research Facility Proteomics
Research Core Unit Proteomics
The Proteomics lab is equipped with up to date instruments to perform MS-based investigations on single proteins and peptides and complete proteomes.

Collaborations and services
The MS lab is open for collaboration with other groups and provides services for protein identification, analysis of post translational modifications, and investigations of complete proteomes. Other projects are possible. We also offer consultations and advice for the experimental design of MS-experiments.
Instructions for protein identification
Samples to be analyzed:
- proteins in acrylamide gel after 1-D or 2-D gel electrophoresis and staining with Coomassie, silver and other dyes
- proteins in solution
- proteins blotted on membranes (NC, PVDF)
- proteins after immune precipitation
- overexpressed proteins
- purified proteins
- mixtures of proteins
- crude extracts for profiling experiments
Usually 0.1 to 1 pmol protein (5 to 50 ng of a 50 kDa protein) are sufficient for identification. Ideally, proteins have been separated in an acrylamide gel and were stained with Coomassie or silver.
