Orbitrap Fusion Lumos (Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Orbitrap Exploris 240 (Thermo Fisher Scientific)

LTQ Orbitrap Velos (Thermo Fisher Scientific)

7500 QTRAP (Sciex)

5800 MALDI TOF/TOF (Sciex)

For MS data analysis multi-core PCs and softwares like MaxQuant, Spectronaut, Proteome Discoverer, SciexOS and Skyline are available. Software tools like Perseus, Ingenuity Pathway Analysis can be used for bioinformatic analysis and we are familiar with R software and internet platforms like PantherDB, GSEA, and more.

Collaborations and services

The MS lab is open for collaborations and provides the following services:

  • Protein and proteome analysis
  • Phosphoproteomics
  • Analysis of posttranslational modifications
  • Targeted protein analysis (mass western)
  • Consultations for proteome and protein analysis and the experimental design of MS-experiments

Instructions for protein identification

  • Protein samples from nearly all sources can be analyzed. For proper identifications suitable data bases from e.g. Uniprot must be available.
  • Proteins should be prepared in a suitable buffer or can be easily analyzed after SDS-PAGE. Please note that cysteine residues have to be alkylated before analysis. Methods for alkylation are available from the MS lab.

                                                  Fees and Charges

We have to charge a fee for analysis that is used for service contracts and maintenance of LC-MS systems:

status from January 1, 2024

Fees for external orders

Fees for general orders of MHH laboratories

Fees for orders from RESIST

Sample preparation LC-MS run (1-2 h) incl. DB search

            150,- €             75,- €             50,- €
