Kidney transplantation

"Since performing the first kidney transplant in 1968, the MHH has established itself as one of the most experienced and largest transplant centers in Germany and Europe.
Today, kidney transplantation represents a standard therapy procedure for terminal renal insufficiency. In close interdisciplinary cooperation, especially with our colleagues of the Nephrology Department at the MHH, kidney transplantation is offered for all common indications after appropriate evaluation of the cause of kidney failure and assessment of the health status of the potential recipient. In addition to conventional transplantation of an organ referred via the waiting list, this also includes living donor transplantation.

Since the turn of the millennium, more than 3,300 kidney transplants have been performed at the MHH. Through the further development of organ preservation, surgical techniques and immunosuppressive therapy to prevent rejection, our department is an international pioneer in the field of kidney transplantation and can offer you modern transplant surgery at the highest level.

Please contact us personally, gladly also for a second opinion!"
