A great confirmation for the whole team: The MHH Central Pharmacy is one of the “recommended training pharmacies for the year 2024”. It received this award in May from the Federal Association of Pharmacy Students in Germany. The central pharmacy took second place in the award. “We are very pleased about this and also a little proud,” says Dr. Gesine Picksak. The pharmacy trains four to five pharmacy students each year for six months. The trainees spend time in the various departments of the pharmacy and learn how to put the theoretical knowledge they acquired at university into practice. This includes the non-sterile, sterile and aseptic production of drugs, analytics, ward work, drug information and the logistical processes in a pharmacy. In addition, everyone has to complete a small project. Each trainee is supervised by a mentor - but all of the pharmacy's 70 or so employees are involved in training the pharmacy students. The award for “highly recommended training pharmacy” is based on personal assessments by the pharmacy students."Training in all areas is very important to all of us. Working with the next generation enriches the entire team and it's great to see the enthusiasm with which the young people start their careers," says Dr. Heike Alz, Head of the Central Pharmacy.
