REBIRTH - Research Center for Translational Regenerative Medicine

From Regenerative Biology to Reconstructive Therapy

more

Description

REBIRTH was funded as a Cluster of Excellence under the Excellence Initiative of the Federal and State Governments from 2006 to 2019 and now continues to exist as 'REBIRTH - Research Center for Translational Regenerative Medicine'.

In addition to the MHH, seven other partners are involved: the Leibniz Universität Hannover, the Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V., the Stiftung Tierärztliche Hochschule Hannover, the Fraunhofer Institute for Toxicology and Experimental Medicine, the Institute of Farm Animal Genetics of the Friedrich-Loeffler-Institute (FLI) Mariensee, the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research Braunschweig and the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine Münster.

REBIRTH addresses some of the big questions in health research as well as the associated challenges to medicine. Our vision is to develop new therapeutic concepts based on biological principles beyond the currently existing approaches. These new regenerative therapies should contribute to the healing of serious diseases of the heart, lung, liver and blood (including diseases of the immune system).
