Berislav joined the Institute of Immunology as a postdoctoral researcher in 2016. In 2023, he habilitated in the field of immunology and joined the cluster of excellence RESIST. Berislav focuses on T-cell responses in allergic diseases and viral infections, especially with cytomegalovirus.

Berislav is part of the 2022 class of the “Infection Biology” PhD program. His research project is focused on studying the dynamics of infection and immune cells with and against HCMV in an infection model of explanted human lungs.

Swantje is particularly interested in vaccinology and in testing of new vaccination strategies with the aim to target lymphocytes to mucosal tissues. She has gained profound experience in conducting immunogenicity assays in pre-clinical as well as clinical settings.
