Accident research at the MHH
For more than 45 years, the Hannover Medical School has been conducting a traffic accident research project based on accident scene surveys. This involves recording accident traces, vehicle deformations and injuries in detail and thus creating opportunities to develop measures to reduce the risk of accidents and the consequences of injuries. Through our research, we have contributed to achieving the current level of road safety.
The recorded accident data is internationally recognized and is used to define safety requirements for
- motor vehicles
- infrastructure
- traffic regulations
are used.
Furthermore, car manufacturers and suppliers use the data to develop and test safety systems.
