After your stay
Dismissal
As a hospital, we are obliged under Section 43b (3) of the Fifth Social Security Code (SGB V) to withhold the co-payment of insured persons for inpatient treatment and to collect unpaid co-payment amounts on behalf of the statutory health insurance funds.
We pay the co-payment amounts directly to the health insurance fund.
You will be invoiced by post following your discharge. Depending on your health insurance company, you will receive an invoice from the MHH or directly from your health insurance company.
The co-payment is EUR 10 per day of stay, i.e. for both the day of admission and the day of discharge, even if you leave the MHH in the morning on the day of discharge. The co-payment is limited to 28 days per calendar year, i.e. a maximum of EUR 280.
Previous hospital stays in the same calendar year are automatically taken into account by our hospital administration.
If you have been exempted from the co-payment, please present the exemption card from your health insurance company upon admission.
The co-payment obligation does not apply to
♦ Patients under the age of 18
♦ for inpatient childbirth
♦ if you have a certificate of exemption
♦ patients for whom a social welfare provider or accident insurance provider
(BG) covers the hospital treatment costs.
