The lab significantly contributed to the generation of various disease modelling platforms for macrophage related disorders. In addition, the lab also significantly contributed to hematopoietic differentiation systems using iPSC to generate subsets of macrophages. Research of the lab includes macrophage related disorders e.g. hereditary pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (herPAP), Mendelian Susceptibility to Mycobacterial Disease (MSMD), and others. Strong collaborations to clinical partners at MHH and other institutes in Germany, France and the US allows for the rapid establishment of patient specific iPSC by lenti- or sendai-virus technology. Our macrophage production platform is than used to gain new insights into the geno-phenotyp mechanism in iPSC-derived macrophages.
