Malte Klemmt has been a research associate at the Institute ofGeneral Medicine and Palliative Medicine since January 2024 as part of the team of the Priority Professorship for Health Services Research in the areas of research, teaching and research funding.

Malte Klemmt studied sociology at the University of Osnabrück and completed his doctorate in 2022 on the topic of the autonomy of residents in inpatient care facilities with a focus on medical and nursing advance care planning.

Malte Klemmt's research topics are: Patient orientation, patient autonomy, access to and use of care services and digitalization in healthcare. Malte Klemmt primarily investigates these topics in general medical and palliative care settings as well as in medical rehabilitation and long-term inpatient facilities.
