Public perception of climate change and health - a cross-sectional survey

Climate change and health are inextricably linked, as climate change has a direct impact on morbidity and mortality and therefore on people's health. However, it is unclear how the population in Germany currently perceives the connection between climate change and health and what options for action are seen.

The "Länger besser Leben." Institute, in cooperation with BKK24, invited people in Germany to take part in an online survey between May and September 2022. In addition to demographic data, the survey covered three core areas: Relevance of climate change (1), health risks due to climate change (2) and collective and individual options for action (3). The data collected was analyzed in cooperation between the "Länger besser Leben." Institute and the Institute ofGeneral Medicine and Palliative Medicine at Hannover Medical School and the results were published.

You can read an article by the project team on the results of the survey here.
