Impressions - What you can expect on this day

The big MHH Homecoming will take place on 15.11.2025. On this day, former MHH students are invited to visit their alma mater and meet up with former fellow students.

At the study program meeting points, alumni can find former fellow students from their degree program and find out whether classmates, study partners or lab partners have also returned to their shared place of work at Homecoming. Color coding, which can already be found in the various programs, should ensure that former fellow students can recognize each other quickly and easily. For the larger degree programs such as medicine, additional year points will be set up to make it easier to meet up with old friends.

Throughout the day, various lectures can be attended in the perhaps still familiar lecture halls of the MHH. In addition to information about the new building, there will be reports on the structural changes of the various degree courses. The presentation of innovative teaching approaches and student projects will provide insights into studying today. There will also be testimonials from alumni and exciting specialist lectures. Each degree program will bring its own repertoire of interesting presentations.

Homecoming is of course not just about seeing your former fellow students again, but also about returning to the MHH campus. Some things have changed since you were a student, but many things have also remained the same. Guided tours of the MHH campus and various rooms will allow making a direct comparison between then and now. The skills lab for human medicine and the midwifery science lab will be among the places visited. Dentists can visit the phantom course room, while alumni of the Public Health degree program can pay a visit to the Etcetera building. The tours are led by current students of the respective degree programs to enable an exchange about the changes in the courses.

A big reunion and a return to the alma mater are good reasons to celebrate, especially if it has been exactly 25 or 50 years since graduation. For this reason, the silver and golden jubilees of the Dentistry and Medicine degree courses will be honored in two ceremonies. The celebrations will be accompanied by music and speeches by selected jubilarians and the deans of studies. The highlight is the awarding of the anniversary certificates.

Finally, the alumni have another chance to catch up with each other. In a relaxed atmosphere and with a drink or two in hand, the evening ends in the so-called living room. The former Studentencafete is still a meeting place for students today and provides the setting for the final alumni party. A small buffet will provide refreshments for the evening so that everyone can enjoy their evening, celebrate, laugh and talk with each other.
