Courses in the training program for medical-technical assistants

Tasks of the medical-technical assistant

Medical-technical laboratory assistants (MTAs) carry out laboratory tests on body fluids and tissues for the prevention, detection and treatment of diseases.

This can be done in hospitals, physicians' surgeries and medical laboratories as well as in medical research, pharmaceutical research laboratories and health authorities.

Training to become an MTA at vocational schools is regulated nationwide; it lasts 3 years.

The Institute for Laboratory Animal Science participates in the training with lectures.
