Biometric advice
The general biometric consultation is available free of charge to all doctoral students and employees of Hannover Medical School (MHH) in accordance with the agreement with the Presidium of the university. It provides the opportunity to obtain a rough assessment of the feasibility of a research project, the costs (measured in number of experimental units), the appropriate experimental design and the correct evaluation strategy. The consultation is non-binding, but can be the starting point for a joint scientific project or a cooperation within the framework of a clinical study or an animal experiment.
Please note
Due to staff shortages, there are currently only a limited number of consultation appointments available, so we recommend that you register as early as possible if you require statistical advice. If you are working on a funding application (EU, BMBF, DFG, industry, etc.) and would like to cooperate with the Institute of Biometry, you will be given priority when appointments are made. When describing your project in the application form for statistical consulting, please note the funding program to which you would like to apply and the deadline that must be met. If in doubt, please contact Yvonne Ziert.
This is how it works
- Please read the general guidelines for biometric counseling.
- Complete the enrollment form electronically and send it to the Institute of Biometry. If no e-mail tool, such as Outlook, is set up on your PC, save the form as a PDF file and send it to us by e-mail.
- Please send us both the electronically completed PDF file and a signed version of the admission form. Please send an e-mail to the Institute's office (e-mail, see above)
- After receipt of the signed application, an appointment will be made for an approx. 30-minute presentation (5 slides, 5 minutes) and discussion (25 minutes) of your project.
- In order for the agreed appointment to take place, we need a short presentation of your project in advance. This must be available no later than the day before the consultation appointment.
- If you already have a study protocol (draft) or an animal experiment application, please also send us these documents at least one day before the consultation appointment.
We look forward to working with you!
