Welcome to the Virtual Centre for Gene and Cell Therapy Hannover!

The Centre for Gene and Cell Therapy (CGaCT) is coordinating scientific and clinical activities in the field of cell and gene therapy at Hannover Medical School. At MHH, gene and cell therapy  comprises the following approaches: in vivo gene therapy, therapies using genetically modified cells, therapies based on induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and their derivatives, therapies with small molecules, protein- or RNA-based therapies, and cell therapies.

The CGaCT also serves as a comprehensive information portal for the general public (schools, students, interested individuals), medical and healthcare professionals, and researchers.*

The CGaCT is funded as part of the "MHH: From Molecule to Human Health" project under the "Potenziale strategisch entfalten" funding initiative of the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture (MWK) and the Volkswagen Foundation, under the umbrella of the joint program "zukunft.niedersachsen."
