Psychosomatic medicine deals with the reciprocal relationships between mental, social and physical processes and their significance for human health and illness.
Psychosomatic and mental illnesses are increasingly seen as a social challenge due to their frequency and their growing impact on participation in working life. Rapid social and technological change also influences the development and course of many illnesses.
A wide range of illnesses are treated at our Clinical Department, with a focus and high level of expertise in psychotherapeutic care. This includes, for example, special therapy techniques (EMDR) for psychological trauma and cognitive behavioural therapy for eating disorders, which we carry out in accordance with guidelines. We also support people with physical illnesses in coping with their illness and the various psychological problems that can occur alongside it.
