Oncology and hematology day clinic

Thanks to our day clinic, the so-called roof terrace, it is possible for many children to receive outpatient care during the intensive therapy phases. Short chemotherapy infusions and blood transfusions, for example, are administered here. Anesthesia for short procedures, such as bone marrow punctures, can also be carried out during the stay in the day clinic.

The best place for children is at home.

We strive to make the inpatient hospital stay as short as possible for our patients, because the best place for children is their home.

Our day clinic is open Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm and has seven beds in two patient rooms. Three pediatric nurses and a physician look after our young patients there. We treat an average of 10 to 15 children per day. At weekends, day clinic care is provided via ward 64a.

To ensure that the therapies can be carried out during the opening hours of the roof terrace (from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), we kindly ask you to keep to the appointments agreed with you.

A day of treatment at the day clinic

First, the children go to the so-called finger prick. A blood count is taken there. An experienced pediatrician then sees the patients and discusses current findings and questions with the parents and children. The children then go to the day clinic to receive their treatment. In the afternoon, the children return home with their parents, with their next appointment in the bag.
