Our offer to you:
During your training as an animal keeper, you will be up close and personal when it comes to the responsible handling of laboratory animals. You will work hand in hand with physicians and biologists and take care of various animal species: from mice, frogs and fish to dogs and monkeys. Your job is varied and demanding, as you breed the animals in a species-appropriate manner, prepare them for important scientific experiments and ensure that they are doing well.
During your training, your attention is required - you observe the behavior and health of the animals closely and react immediately to changes.
You will also be there for them in the event of illness, making a valuable contribution to animal welfare.

An exciting mix of theory and practice awaits you during your training as an animal keeper at the MHH!
You will learn everything you need to know about vocational training, employment and collective bargaining law and gain an insight into the organization and structure of the central animal laboratory at MHH.
Safety in the workplace, health protection and environmental protection are just as much a focus as quality assurance measures.
The core of your work will revolve around the care, maintenance and breeding of mice and rats - you will become an expert in their species-appropriate Nursing and keeping.
You will also learn how to handle other laboratory animal species and work in all areas of the animal house.
