Focus on age-related
macular degeneration (AMD)
Does this sound familiar?
► The text looks crooked and distorted.
► Letters suddenly disappear while reading.
► Recognizing faces becomes a guessing game.
► Even the best glasses don’t help.
These signs may indicate AMD.
AMD affects more than 7 million people in Germany
and is the most common cause of severe visual impairment, accounting for 50% of cases.
The number of cases of blindness
caused by AMD is approximately 5,000 per year.
So you are not alone!
As part of the joint project
between UMG and MHH, we would like to use this event to show you the
current state of medicine and research, facilitate
contact with support groups and other affected individuals
, and present assistive devices for
everyday life in the exhibition.
We look forward to seeing you!
The program is included in the flyer.
Open to anyone interested.
