Dear Mr. or Mrs.,
Peritoneal dialysis thrives on proximity to the patient, but also on personal exchange within the peritoneal dialysis team. We would like to welcome you to the 21st Peritoneal Dialysis Workshop in Hanover, where we will once again focus on exchanging ideas with you.
We have selected clinically relevant topics. In the first lecture, Mr. Dr. Hiß will give an update on the current status of diagnosis and treatment of PD-associated peritonitis. Dr. Wilts-Barbey will use exciting cases to explain metabolic changes under PD. We are particularly pleased that Prof. Roland Schmitt from Kiel will report on disorders of the electrolyte and acid-base balance in PD patients. Mr. Dr. Greite will take a critical look at the topic of shared decision making. There is a lot of information on the Internet for people on peritoneal dialysis. But which of them should you recommend? Dr. Uta Hillebrand, who has carried out extensive research, will report on this. Dr. Gabriele Eden from Braunschweig will present which patients with heart failure are suitable for PD. Finally, Mr. Prof. Schmidt-Ott will give you an update on drug therapies for people with kidney disease - with a special focus on the question of which therapies are effective in reducing the risk of poor outcomes and which are also useful in patients requiring dialysis.
During the event, you can test your PD knowledge via TED voting and actively participate in the exciting presentations.
We look forward to welcoming you again this year at Hannover Medical School and wish you an interesting event.
