Under its new conductor, Julia Best, the Choir of Hannover Medical School (MHH) will perform two motets by Johann Sebastian Bach on August 29, 2026, together with the professional Baroque orchestra l’arco. The program will be rounded out musically by Georg Philipp Telemann’s Overture in G minor. The motet “Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme” (BWV 140) is a masterpiece full of radiant chorale melodies that impressively combines hope, anticipation, and joy. “Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben” (BWV 147), featuring the famous chorale “Jesu, bleibet meine Freude,” ranks among Bach’s most beautiful and beloved works. G. Ph. Telemann’s Overture in G minor captivates with its Baroque elegance, tonal diversity, and stirring expressiveness.
The Hannover Medical School Choir brings together students, staff, and alumni of the MHH, as well as members of many other professional groups, all united by a love of sophisticated choral music. The solo parts will be performed by: Annika Stegger (soprano), N.N. (alto), Joscha Eggers (tenor), and Torsten Gödde (bass). The concert will be conducted by Julia Best.
Admission is 15 euros (reduced rate 10 euros), and tickets are available at the box office and, starting July 1, 2026, at the bookstore at the Marktkirche and at Lehmanns (MHH-Ladengasse). Up-to-date information is available on our website (mhh-chor.de).

Open to anyone interested.
