Apply for funding
to the funding application of the Administrative Unit Fundraising
Notes on application and funding
MHH employees, students and doctoral candidates are eligible to apply. We automatically check the funding options for your project at all Facilities or Institutions that the Administrative Unit supports:
- Förderstiftung MHH plus
- Gesellschaft der Freunde der MHH e. V. (Society of Friends of the MHH)
- MHH-Alumni e.V.
- Annika Liese Foundation
- Brenzel Foundation
- German Addiction Foundation
- Elke and Dr. Rolf Ecklebe Foundation
- Friedrich and Alida Gehrke Foundation
- Georg and Christine Marx Foundation
- Hannover Medical School Tumor Foundation
- Zukunft stiften (emerged from the H. Drexler Foundation)
Only projects that directly or indirectly benefit the MHH are funded. They should be related to research, teaching, patient care, family friendliness, campus life or the promotion of young talent. The organization of scientific congresses or symposia can also be supported. In principle, internal MHH events of a predominantly social nature (e.g. staff parties or company outings) are not eligible for funding.
Please submit the following documents:
- Funding application (Please always include a start and end date. If your project includes catering, be sure to list these costs as an individual item in the financing plan).
- Project description (in Word or PDF format)
Please send your application to foerderantrag@mh-hannover.de. Your contact in the Fundraising Administrative Unit is Annika Morchner, phone 0511 532-8756.
Congress participation by MHH students and doctoral candidates is also financially supported as part of the promotion of young researchers. The prerequisite is that the applicant gives a lecture or presents a poster. Up to 75% of the costs are subsidized, up to a maximum of 750 euros. The subsidy is granted once for one person. The application is made informally by e-mail to foerderantrag@mh-hannover.de with the following documents:
- Information on the reason, destination, start and duration of the trip
- Proof of acceptance of your presentation or poster
- Letter of recommendation from your supervisor
- statement of costs
- Proof of enrollment, if applicable
Applications for funding can be submitted on an ongoing basis. The processing times are usually
- max. four weeks for congress grants.
- A maximum of three months for project proposals.
It is essential that you submit your application before the start of the project or travel and also take into account in your time planning that a third-party fund usually has to be set up to provide funding for project plans.
Funding is usually provided from an MHH third-party fund. Travel expenses for a congress grant are reimbursed directly to the applicant. Direct reimbursement of other funding is only possible in exceptional cases (especially for small funding amounts) and by prior arrangement.
Your cooperation is required when reporting on funded congress participation. If you have received a congress grant, we would like to see a photo of you giving a presentation or with your poster as well as information about your participation in the congress based on the following questions:
- Name, topic, program, number of participants at the congress?
- When did the congress take place?
- Where did the congress take place?
- At which Institute and on which topic are you doing your doctorate?
- On which topic did you give a lecture/present a poster? (Short summary of the content)
- What did you expect to gain from attending the congress?
- What experiences did you gain from your trip?
Once the project has been completed, we will arrange a photo/meeting with you. Reporting usually takes place on MHH's own channels (website, MHH Info, social media). In individual cases, the Administrative Unit Fundraising may request a project report and/or a proof of use in addition to the reporting.
For all funded projects, reference must be made to the funding institution in an appropriate manner (e.g. on the website or your social media channels, in presentations, flyers, posters, conference documents or press releases). Please coordinate the presentation with the Fundraising Administrative Unit.
Approvals can be revoked if
- a required third-party fund is not set up within six months of approval.
- funds are not used to any significant extent within one year of being made available.
- funds are used for purposes other than those for which they were approved.
- the approval is based on false information.
