Scientific career

Maren Dreier studied medicine at the Hannover Medical School and received her doctorate in 1998. After completing her training as a physician of internal medicine at the Ev. Johanneskrankenhaus in Bielefeld (1994-2001), she studied public health with a focus on epidemiology at the Hannover Medical School (2001-04). She initially worked as a research assistant in the Medical Sociology Department of the MHH (2002-05) and moved to the Institute of Epidemiology, Social Medicine and Public Health Research in 2005. For her cumulative habilitation thesis "Evidence-based health information and informed decision-making in early cancer detection" she received the Venia legendi for Public Health and Epidemiology in 2022.
