Career

Prof. Dr. Dr. Christian Krauth studied economics, political science and philosophy at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster. From 1988 to 1993, he worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Public Finance at the University of Münster. In 1994, he received his doctorate in economics (Dr. rer. pol.) from the University of Münster. In the same year, he moved to Hannover Medical School and initially worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Epidemiology, Social Medicine and Public Health Research. Prof. Dr. Christian Krauth has been Head of the Health Economics Research Unit since 1997 and Head of the Health Economics and Health Policy Research Unit since 2007 (together with Prof. Dr. Dr. Volker Amelung). In 2005, he habilitated with a thesis on "Health Economic Evaluation in Chronic Diseases" at Hannover Medical School and was awarded the Venia legendi for Health Economics and Public Health.
