Teaching and Continuing Education
Dear Students,
Dear Faculty,
the Institute of Neuroanatomy and Cell Biology offers a wide range of courses in the study programmes at Hannover Medical School. An essential part of our teaching philosophy is the continuous development of didactic concepts to offer education at the highest level. The interdisciplinary nature of medical and biomedical education is a central element in this regard. We also keep you up to date on current developments in our course offerings via our newsfeed and social media channels.
In addition to the required courses in your degree program or training, we offer a range of opportunities for further qualification:
- Research Module: The new licensing regulations for medicine and dentistry emphasize the scientific foundation of medical education. In line with this, the Research Module provides an initial opportunity to engage in scientific research and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in medical disciplines. We regularly offer science modules that address various aspects of neuroscientific or anatomical research. You can find current offerings in our newsfeed or on our social media channels, among other places.
- Digital Microscopy: Digital microscopy complements our regular course offerings in microscopic anatomy, designed to ensure preparation, follow-up, and the retention of knowledge. At Hannover Medical School, we are developing an interactive digital microscopy platform designed to enable our students to engage in decentralized and asynchronous learning processes. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, we also aim to integrate clinical applications. Interested in collaborating? Then please get in touch with us!
- Bachelor’s and Master’s Theses: We regularly offer Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis opportunities in all areas of our neuroscience research focus. If our research focus has piqued your interest, please feel free to reach out to us at any time.
- Doctoral theses: A doctoral degree is the first step toward the ability to conduct independent scientific research. We offer a structured doctoral program addressing current scientific questions in both prospective and retrospective formats. As part of your training, our goal is to advance scientific knowledge for the benefit of our patients. If you are interested, please feel free to reach out to us. We would be happy to inform you about current projects and opportunities.
Our course materials are made available to you on the ILIAS learning platform.
Recognition of Academic Credits
If you would like to have previously completed coursework recognized, please follow these steps:
Certificates of equivalence must always be requested from the university to which you wish to transfer. The respective module coordinators of the target program or subject are responsible for this. They will assess whether the credits you have earned can be recognized in terms of both content and form.
Therefore, always proceed as follows:
- Find out who the responsible module coordinators are at the destination university.
- Submit your documents (e.g., transcripts, module descriptions) there.
- Have the equivalence of your academic achievements confirmed.
This is the only way to ensure proper recognition.
For any questions regarding academic matters, please contact us at lehre.neuroanatomie@mh-hannover.de.
With warm regards
Your Teaching Team at the Institute of Neuroanatomy and Cell Biology
