Center for Intensive Care Medicine of the MHH

Supra-regional intensive care in the Center for Intensive Care Medicine at the MHH

The MHH offers patients from Lower Saxony and beyond a supra-regional intensive care center. For this purpose, all intensive care Clinical Departments are organized in the Center for Intens ive Care Medicine at MHH.

The MHH participates in ground and airborne emergency care for all age groups and, in addition to a Central Emergency Room and a Pediatric Emergency Room, also has an air rescue station with space for several helicopters. It is therefore available around the clock, 365 days a year, especially for patients requiring intensive care. Patients with an indication for extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) can be picked up from the transferring hospital by a specialized MHH team.

The Center for Intensive Care Medicine at the MHH has a total of 150 high-care intensive care beds in 10 intensive care units. All necessary organ replacement procedures are offered at all times in the MHH intensive care units. Surgery and intervention are available around the clock. Cross-sectional imaging diagnostics (CT, MRI) and specialist consultation services are available at all times.

To ensure coordinated intensive medical care in Lower Saxony, the Center for Intensive Care Medicine at the MHH is digitally networked with other hospitals and maintains a professional exchange with the intensive care teams there.
