Palliative care

The primary goal of palliative care is to improve the quality of life by alleviating physical and mental discomfort. The progression of an incurable disease can often be associated with symptoms such as pain, shortness of breath or restlessness. The palliative medical care represents a holistic accompaniment considering also the emotional and spiritual needs of the affected patients and their relatives. Palliative care should not start at the end of life, but is an important part of good medical care in advanced disease situations.

Palliative care is tightly integrated into the network structures of the Hanover Medical School and the Oncology Center in order to ensure a high-quality, state-of-the-art patient care.

For us, the human being with his individual needs is always in the foreground.
