Medical Director: Prof. Dr. med. Henning Windhagen
Laboratory Director: Prof. Dr. med. Christof Hurschler
Laboratory for Biomechanics and Biomaterials
Research focuses on experimental and clinical implant technology. The LBB was founded in 1989 by Prof. Dr. med. C. J. Wirth and has been headed since 2000 by Prof. Dr. med. Hurschler since 2000. The laboratory offers an open portal for scientific transfer. This is reflected in the many national and international research cooperations. The LBB is a certified network laboratory of the Basic Research Section of the German Society for Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Surgery (DGOOC) and belongs to the two research networks Musculoskeletal Biomechanics (MSB-Net) and Regenerative Orthopaedics (NRO) and is also a certified network laboratory.
The research laboratory is divided into the Departments:
- Institute for Orthopaedic Movement Diagnostics (OrthoGo)
