Qualification objectives
The module provides basic and in-depth knowledge of pharmacology and toxicology. This is taught theoretically (lecture) and experimentally (internship). The aim of the module is for graduates to have a broad knowledge of pharmaceuticals and toxins and to be proficient in the methods and techniques used in this important and diverse field.
Competencies
Students have a comprehensive understanding of pharmaceuticals and toxins. In particular, they will learn about mechanisms of action, therapeutic areas of application, regulatory principles and the known restrictions on the use of pharmaceuticals. Students are able to understand experimental pharmacological/toxicological research projects, plan them themselves and carry them out using modern bioscientific and analytical methods. In addition, they are able to assess the significance of pharmacological and toxicological experiments.
