Ernst / Jablonka working group

Focus areas: Care, epidemiology and clinical rheumatology

In the working group, we are currently supervising projects on care, in collaboration with the regional cooperative rheumatology center, projects on COVID19 and clinical projects from rheumatology currently on Sjögren's syndrome. We work closely with AG Behrens and AG Witte as well as the Regional Rheumatology Center Lower Saxony(https://rheumazentrum-hannover.de).

Our current projects:

  • Sjögren's syndrome
Evaluation of new diagnostics (new biomarkers and sonography of the salivary glands) in comparison with current diagnostics, based on the diagnostic criteria
  • Care4Rheumatology
Care research with the aim of systematically recording the professional field of rheumatology and developing solutions to improve care. In cooperation with Dr. Ellen Kuhlmann, Institute of Epidemiology, Social Medicine and Health Systems Research and the AG Junge Rheumatologen im Regionalen Rheumazentrum e.V.(https://rheumazentrum-hannover.de/ag-junger-rheumatologen/ )
  • COVID19Response
    • Seroconversion of medical staff
The aim is to systematically record the infection rate of medical staff, possible quarantine and disease symptoms in order to be able to carry out long-term risk stratification. At the same time, we want to investigate the course of antibody development and subsequently also pursue immunological questions regarding the immune response in the event of a COVID-19 infection.

    • Telephone consultation
This project aims to ensure the care of rheumatology patients during the corona crisis. The telephone consultation is conducted using systematic questionnaires, with half of the patients being called by RFAs and the other half by physicians. Patient satisfaction, therapeutic consequences and clinical questions about vaccination behavior and dealing with corona are the endpoints of the study.
