Dr. med. Christoph Terkamp - Curriculum Vitae


Dr. Christoph Terkamp is a senior physician at the Clinical Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endocrinology and the Center for Internal Medicine at Hannover Medical School.

After studying medicine in Hanover and at Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, USA, Dr. Terkamp received his specialist training in internal medicine in the Department of Clinical Endocrinology and the Clinical Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endocrinology at Hannover Medical School. In 2005, in addition to his specialist qualification in internal medicine (2004), he obtained the specialist qualification in endocrinology and diabetology and in 2006 the specialist qualification in gastroenterology. Dr. Terkamp is also an instructor (level 2) of the German Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (DEGUM).

Dr. Terkamp is in charge of the endocrinology and diabetology section of the Clinical Department together with Dr. Leitolf and is recognized by the Medical Association of Lower Saxony as qualified to provide further training in endocrinology and diabetology.

His work focuses in particular on the multimodal, substance-specific treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus and the sonographic characterization of thyroid diseases. Dr. Terkamp is involved in national and international further education and training concepts in these areas.

Dr. Terkamp also supervises clinical phase 2-4 studies in endocrinology and diabetology.
