Curriculum Vitae - Prof. Dr. med. Katja Deterding

Prof. Dr. med. Katja Deterding is a senior physician in the Clinical Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endocrinology at Hannover Medical School.

After studying medicine in Hanover, she completed her specialist training in the Clinical Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endocrinology at Hannover Medical School. Prof. Dr. med. Katja Deterding has been a specialist in internal medicine since 2012 and a specialist in internal medicine and gastroenterology since 2013.

Between 2018 and 2020, Ms. Deterding worked at the University Hospital Essen (University of Duisburg-Essen), where she was senior physician in charge of clinical studies and sonography. She has been involved in numerous national and international clinical studies for many years. On May 1, 2020, she moved to Hannover Medical School as a senior physician.

Prof. Dr. med. Katja Deterding's scientific work focuses on viral diseases of the liver. In 2017, she was awarded the "Venia legendi" (habilitation) for internal medicine. In 2013, she was awarded the Rudolf Schoen Prize and in 2024, Ms Deterding was awarded the title of "Associate Professor".

Between 2004 and 2008, she coordinated the Surveillance Platform of the European network VIRGIL (European Network for the Management of Antiviral Drug Resistance). Prof. Dr. med. Katja Deterding has also been involved in the activities of the Hepatitis Competence Network and the German Liver Foundation since 2004.

Prof. Dr. med. Katja Deterding has published numerous original scientific papers and review articles.
