In our special consultation hours, patients are treated in cooperation with established neurologists, neurologists or psychiatrists. A referral from a practicing colleague is therefore necessary.

Please bring the following documents with you when you visit us for the first time:
- current medication schedule (with dosage and times of administration of all medication, including non-disease-specific medication)

Studies
We regularly conduct multi-center clinical studies with the following supra-regional study groups:
The "German Parkinson StudyGroup" was founded in 2003 as part of the Parkinson's Competence Network. This scientifically oriented study group brings together highly qualified neurologists throughout Germany with many years of experience in the GCP-compliant conduct of clinical trials. The study center is located at the Clinical Department of Neurology Marburg (headed by Dr. Eggert). As part of international multicenter studies, numerous new substances and dosage forms of symptomatic as well as possible neuroprotective therapy for Parkinson's syndromes are being investigated.
As part of the European Huntington's Disease Network ("Euro HD"), patients are included in the European Huntington's Disease Registry in a standardized manner. This scientifically oriented study group works together with experts with many years of experience in the field of Huntington's disease throughout Europe. Furthermore, numerous new substances and dosage forms of symptomatic and possible neuroprotective therapy for Huntington's disease are being investigated as part of international multicenter studies.
In addition, we conduct numerous drug approval studies, non-interventional and interventional studies and our own clinical studies.

The Movement Disorders Unit was set up in 2008 by the Presidium of the MHH and the Clinical Department of Neurology. It is based on the creation of Germany's first specialist professorship for movement disorders. This area bundles the outpatient care of patients with movement disorders, as well as research and the training and further education of students, PhD students, post-doctoral students, interns, assistants, employees and especially the Germany-wide networking of medical and non-medical colleagues. Research is focused on translational aspects, i.e. on an interface function between basic research and patient care.
The field of movement disorders is embedded in a unique local cluster with the key partners University of Music, Drama and Media (for patients with musician's dystonia), the clinics for neurosurgery, psychiatry and pediatrics and the industrial partners Toxogen and Miprolab. In addition, there is close cooperation with all the world's leading research institutes and manufacturers of botulinum toxin drugs as well as leading clinical institutions for movement disorders. Special research focuses are dystonia, Parkinson's syndromes, spasticity, botulinum toxin therapy, duodopa pumps, apomorphine pumps, baclofen pumps, epidemiological and genetic issues, psychogenic movement disorders and complex pharmacotherapies. The area of movement disorders has been significantly strengthened by the appointment of the new Director, who is one of the leading experts in the field of basic research and treatment of atypical movement disorders in particular.
He is regarded as one of the leading experts in basic research and treatment, particularly for atypical Parkinson's syndromes, and will provide new impetus with his team.
The diagnostic and therapeutic offerings can be found in the presentation of the outpatient clinics.
