General ward

Ward 35

Neurological normal ward and day ward

Ward 35 is a normal neurological ward. In addition to general neurological issues, the ward is looked after by several specialized teams. The neuroimmunology team focuses on treating patients with inflammatory neurological diseases. These include multiple sclerosis, autoimmune encephalitis, myasthenia gravis, inflammatory neuropathies and infections of the nervous system. Another focus is on movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease, including atypical Parkinson's syndromes (complex therapy with intensive physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy possible) or tremor syndromes.

Patients are admitted on an elective basis after making an appointment (contact via the bed management department of the Clinical Department of Neurology) or as an emergency via the Central Emergency Room. Patients are seen by a physician every day. The examination results and treatment options are discussed. Senior physician rounds take place twice a week.

The day ward of the Clinical Department of Neurology is also located on ward 35. In this setting, patients are cared for during the day like inpatients, but can spend the night at home or outside the MHH. In this setting, elective differential diagnostic clarifications are carried out in particular. On the day of admission, a detailed admission interview is held with the ward physician and senior physician in charge. During this interview, the inpatient stay and the planned examinations are discussed. As a rule, a stay on the day ward lasts between 2 and 4 days. Patients receive medical and nursing care during their stay.
