The fundraising campaign

Yes, it is true: neither the organization of childcare nor the provision of the necessary premises is one of the core tasks of Hannover Medical School. So why is the university hospital now faced with the challenge of having to build a new building for its company daycare center without being allowed to spend a single "own" cent? Quite simply, the MHH is only allowed to use investment funds for research, teaching and patient care. At the same time, the university is under pressure to offer its employees the best possible childcare if it wants to keep the best minds in the Hanover healthcare system. Because it is not possible to finance a new building costing 10 million euros from donations alone, MHH has opted for an investor solution, i.e. an external company builds the daycare center and MHH then rents it for the campus children. However, the equipment and outdoor area are not included in this calculation. The MHH is still dependent on donations for this.
