PD Dr. Harald Bertram completed his medical studies in Hanover. From 1988 to 1997, he held various positions at the pediatric clinic of the Medical University, and has been a specialist in pediatrics and adolescent medicine since 1997. Since 2001, he has worked as a senior physician for the pediatric clinic at Hannover Medical School. Since 2002, he has been senior consultant and deputy head physician of the Department of Pediatric Cardiology and Intensive Care Medicine. From July 2011 to October 2012, he was acting head of the Department.

His scientific and clinical work focuses on interventional pediatric cardiology and the care of adults with congenital heart defects (EMAH). Dr. Bertram completed his habilitation on the topic of "Modern catheter-guided diagnosis and therapy of congenital cardiovascular anomalies" in 2009.

In addition to his activities in the field of interventional cardiology, Dr. Bertram has great expertise in the field of diagnostic and interventional angiology as well as in the field of catheter-guided interventions in the bronchial system.

PD Dr. Harald Bertram is a member of the guideline commission of the German Society of Pediatric Cardiology. He is a member of the German Society of Pediatricians and the German Society of Pediatric Cardiology.
