Dr. Seidemann studied medicine at the Philipps University of Marburg, at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospital in London and at the Free University of Berlin. She completed most of her practical year in Canada.

After completing her studies, Dr. Seidemann began working as a physician at Hannover Medical School in the Children's Clinic in 1995. As part of her specialist training, she completed all pediatric disciplines with an initial clinical and scientific focus on pediatric oncology; among other things, she worked for 1.5 years as a study physician in the GPOH multicenter therapy study on the therapy of malignant non-Hodgkin's lymphomas of childhood (NHL-BFM). During this time, her scientific interest in clinical care research was awakened.

Since the beginning of 2000, Dr. Seidemann has been a permanent member of the medical team in the Department of Paediatric Cardiology and Intensive Care Medicine, working mainly in the interdisciplinary paediatric intensive care unit 67. Dr. Seidemann passed her paediatric specialist examination in 2002. Dr. Seidemann has been working as a senior physician in intensive care unit 67 since 2004.

Dr. Seidemann obtained the specialist qualification in paediatric cardiology in 2006 and the specialist qualification in intensive care medicine for children and adolescents in 2008. Dr. Seidemann has been authorized to provide further training in paediatric intensive care medicine since 2012. From 2014 to the end of 2016, Dr. Seidemann worked temporarily as a senior physician at the Children's Hospital of the Karlsruhe Municipal Hospital, where she acquired the specialist qualification in neonatology in 2015.

Dr. Seidemann completed her habilitation in 2008. Her scientific work focuses on clinical and genetic prognosis and risk factors for pediatric patients with lymphatic neoplasia as well as intensive care aspects of pediatric oncology patients with severe infectious complications.

After completing her habilitation, Dr. Seidemann completed a part-time MBA in Business Administration for Physicians at the University of Applied Sciences Neu-Ulm, which she completed in 2012 with a master's thesis on the care structure of the PIN Pediatric Intensive Care Network and its economic aspects.

In addition to her clinical work, Ms. Seidemann is also involved in humanitarian projects. After a six-month stay in Central Asia with "Doctors without Borders" in 2007, Dr. Seidemann, together with Dr. Jack and Ms. Tönsfeuerborn, took over medical responsibility for the cooperation and training project with the Karapitiya University Hospital in Galle/Sri Lanka, in which the children's intensive care unit there is continuously supported in terms of construction, structure, content and training in cooperation with the Lions Clubs of Hanover and Hikkaduwa.

In addition to her clinical work as a senior physician and mentor on the intensive care unit 67, Dr. Seidemann is particularly involved in the continuous training and further education of the unit's medical staff. She is primarily responsible for the induction of new employees and, together with the training assistants and specialists, develops the curriculum for structured training in pediatric intensive care medicine.
