Carlos Oltmanns, an assistant physician in the Clinical Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Infectious Diseases and Endocrinology, was awarded the first dissertation prize from the North German Society for Gastroenterology (NDGG) for his dissertation titled “Evaluation and Identification of New Biomarkers for Individualized Early Detection of Hepatocellular Carcinoma Following Chronic Hepatitis C.” The prize is worth 1,000 euros.
