The public prosecutor's office in Hanover is investigating a physician at the Hannover Medical School (MHH) on suspicion of murder. We are taking the situation very seriously. Our top priority is to care for patients and their medical treatment.
The MHH had already initiated internal investigations before the public prosecutor's investigation and released the employee. After the internal investigations revealed initial unconfirmed indications of a possible breach of the law, MHH acted immediately and consistently and reported the case to the public prosecutor's office.
MHH is cooperating fully with the responsible investigating authorities. As a matter of principle, MHH clearly distances itself from any behavior that violates legal or ethical principles. We ask for your understanding that we are unable to comment further due to the ongoing investigations.
