Prof. Dr. med. Meike Stiesch, Director of the Clinical Department of Dental Prosthetics and Biomedical Materials, received her certificate of membership from the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina in June 2026. She was appointed as a member in 2025 and has since belonged to the Section of Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, and Stomatology. Founded in 1652, the Leopoldina is the world’s oldest continuously existing academy of natural sciences and medicine. In 2008, it was designated the National Academy of Sciences. Scientists who have distinguished themselves through significant scientific achievements are appointed as members.
