In perfect running weather and a colourful and cheerful street festival setting, around 30,000 people lined up at the starting line for the 33rd Hannover Marathon on Sunday, including around 350 employees of Hannover Medical School (MHH) in 67 relay teams. Both the Hannover Marathon organising team and MHH can report a record number of participants.
In the marathon relay, up to six runners share the marathon distance of 42.195 kilometres. This year, the six sections were between 4.4 and 9.4 kilometres long. Thanks to a relay stop on the last kilometre, all teams were able to cross the finish line in front of the New Town Hall together. In 2024, around 250 MHH employees from all areas had joined together to form 42 relay teams.

MHH is impossible to miss

"The weather was great, although it was quite cold, the support along the route motivated everyone running, MHH running shirts were visible from afar," concluded MHH Vice President Martina Saurin. She was part of the "Flotte Füße" team. "In short: MHH once again showed its presence." Our runners really couldn't be missed. Just like last year, MHH teams were wearing bright light-green running shirts sponsored by MHH plus foundation.

Incidentally, MHH team "s Brain 3" was the fastest: Thorsten Scharte, Leo Dietrich, Berit Abraham, Sebastian Schröder, Jan Philip Jürß and Lars Voß crossed the finish line after three hours, 22 minutes and 43 seconds, taking 42nd place overall. Congratulations to everyone who took part!
