Emergency care is also guaranteed on the sixth day of the strike, but there will again be significant restrictions on patient care tomorrow, Tuesday.

Tomorrow, Tuesday (February 10, 2026), Hannover Medical School (MHH) will be affected by another day of warning strikes as part of the current wage disputes in the public sector. The strike action has been called by the trade union Verdi.
All emergency patients will receive adequate care. This is stipulated in the emergency service agreement that the MHH has concluded with Verdi. Nevertheless, there will once again be significant restrictions in everyday hospital life. This applies in particular to planned operations, planned inpatient admissions and outpatient treatments. The outpatient clinics for children and adolescents as well as oncology and other special outpatient clinics for adults will remain open.
Specifically, the restrictions mean that patients who have a surgery appointment, an inpatient admission appointment or an outpatient appointment that can be rescheduled tomorrow (Tuesday) will be informed personally of any postponement. Patients whose treatment appointments are not being changed can and should keep them. However, they must expect waiting times and possibly further postponements.
There are many patients whose treatments have already had to be reorganized several times due to the strike. "This is already the sixth day of strike action," says MHH Vice President Prof. Dr. Frank Lammert, who is responsible for patient care. "The longer a strike lasts, the more difficult patient care becomes."
